RE: Shawano County Sheriff’s Department
Expansion Options
PLI Project No. #2001.03.00
Dear Jim:
RE: Shawano County Sheriff's
Department Expansion Options PLI Project No. #2001.03.00 |
As requested at our meeting on Monday September 30.2002,
we have prepared three options for the potential expansion of the Sheriff’s
Department. These options are based upon our discussions at that meeting and no
detailed plans have been developed. These variations are based upon the Justice
Center plans presented in May 2001.
Option A provides for a new food service area on the east side of the current
jail, remodeling within the current Sheriff's office areas, and an addition to the west consisting of a one . story building of approximately 4,800 square feet.
This option only partially meets the space needs for the Sheriff's Department as identified in the
Space Requirement Program dated May 14, 2001. Our preliminary estimate of probable project cost
(construction cost plus project "soft" costs) is in the range of $2,300,000 to $2,650,000.
Option I3 provides for a new food service area on the east side of the current
jail, remodeling within the current Sheriff's office areas and an addition to the west consisting of
a one-story building of approximately 15,000 square feet. This option can meet the space needs
of the Sheriff Department as identified in the Space.Requirement Program dated May 14, 2001. This
option can be designed with the potential for vertical expansion should the justice center proceed at
some time in the future. Our preliminary estimate of probable project cost (construction cost plus
project "soft" costs) is in the range of $4,200,000 to $4,500,00d.
For your
clarity, we have attached diagrammatic floor plans for these options.
We hope these
materials help your committee to understand these expansion options.
Sincerely,
